My blower motor is making noise. 1,000 miles out of warranty. A quick Google shows it as fairly common.

Some people have tried lubricating it, but it only helped for a short while. I tried to do the same because why not. Getting to the blower wasn’t difficult at all, but getting it out requires removing 3 5mm screws that are hard to get to. My socket didn’t fit quite right so I gave up and put it back together.

And to think I was hoping to trade this in within the next few months. Now I get to decide if I can live with the noise or not. That Camaro is sounding more appealing by the day...

If it’s only just out of warranty, try talking to the manufacturer. It’s out of warranty, so you can’t expect them to cover the entire repair, but if it’s that little outside they may/should offer to contribute something towards the cost if you have it done at a main dealer.

A Honda dealership once replaced all my O2 sensors even though I was 4k miles past warranty. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Good choice! You’ll be able to cash in on its warranty LONG before it expires...

2016, not 2015, and early warranty repairs aren't THAT shocking. Shit happens. I had a coil pack replaced last year

I'll probably try. Especially since it's apparently such a common thing

Depends. If you are in good terms with the dealer you bought it from, go back and ask if they will look at it. Dont demand warranty right away. If gm is like fca, the dealer has another 10k or so mileage window after it offically expires to “goodwill” a warranty through the manufacter. Note I said GOOD will, so they are going to have to like you a little bit.

Source-2 years as a service rep. Ive goodwilled a number of repairs, but only to good customers or if the customer was, ah, a particularily good-looking female.

My dealer has generally been nice. One guy was kinda a dick once. If it continues being really annoying I’ll just stop in and ask if they can look at it.

Good will repair should be super easy to get. Barely out of warranty, common problem, cheap fix.

You’re thinking 6th gen Camaro? Are those available yet? I haven’t seen any yet and am dying to try one out. (more to see how I fit in it)

Would you go SS? V6? Or would you keep to the church of boost like your Sonic?

Yes, 6th gen. They’re out. I’ve seen a few at dealers. Sort of trickling out now, they’ll be common in another few months.

Id love an SS but it's too expensive. I'll probably go V6.

Cool. The V6 seems to be the sweet spot, on paper at least. I haven’t even seen one in person yet. In your opinion, does it look a lot smaller than the 5th gen?

No one has seen the turbo yet, so it could be awesome, but I kinda want to try an NA car. I’ve had the turbo for a while now, might as well do something different. Plus the V6 sounds wicked.

If you've been around 5th gens a decent amount it definitely seems leaner. It's still a relatively big car, but it seems less boat like. I haven't tried to test drive one yet, trying to wait until I'm truly ready to buy, but it sounds like it's a completely different driving experience than the 5th generation because of the size and weight

I hear ya on the N/A thing. I usually end up changing segments from vehicle to vehicle too. Keeps things fresh in a lot of ways. :) So the Camaro is a nice driving evolution coming from a Sonic.

Gotta admit it’s nice to see another RS owner around here, and I’ll be sad to lose the adventures of Super Sanic!
